Two Questions

First, and most importantly: Does anyone know what to do about these little creatures? They are box elder bugs, and there were 25 of them crawling in our bedroom this morning. That's GROSS, but the other night when one was creeping into my mouth, that was worse. Something must be done. Anyone up for a visit to our home?

The second question is: What is so amazingly awesome about a headlamp? Glen has wanted one for a long time, and finally had a good excuse to get one for the boy scout camp out several months ago. It's a hit around here.

Hyrum has wanted one for ever! there was a baseball cap at Home Depot that had a light on it and he wanted it so bad but it was way too much for what you got... where did you find your light? Box elder bugs are the bane of my mother-in-law's life...they are always sneaking in the front door and getting squished in the door frame... I'm not sure what to do with them, though, they press flat nicely!

Glen has wanted a head lamp for a long time?! That sentence is very funny to me. But, hey, if only all our dreams were so attainable!

Grody to the MAX about those bugs. I'll tell you what I know, which is not much: We get them in Maryland (MI too, but not as bad) because we have a box elder tree in our front yard there. They are all over the place during mating season, and then they all but disappear. I called an exterminator about them, and he said he could spray, but there was really no point. Better off waiting a couple of weeks and then they would go away. What always amazes me is how they don't waste any time! They show up the second the weather is at all not freezing. It's like they never die, just slow down in the cold. Crazy. My best advice is to make sure your windows and doors are chalked well, so that they can't crawl in that way.

That does remind me of something Isaac said yesterday . . . He has been very concerned about poor people who cannot afford food lately. I'm not sure why. But we were at the park and he was chasing bugs and he looked up at me brightly and said, "Mom! I know what people can do who cannot afford food! Eat BUGS!" I asked him would he like to eat bugs if he was poor and he said no. So I suggested we could just keep donating money in our Fast Offering to help keep those people from having to eat bugs. Funny kid.

In your mouth? Oh my goodness. NYC apartments are becoming infested with bed bugs so I am paranoid about those. And headlamps, I agree, are awesome. Definitely great for multi-taskers. I love to wear them any chance I get. I may have to save up for one of those.
