Happy Holidays to all! We are well out here on the East Coast, and enjoying a rather warm early winter season.
Anson tested for and advanced to his second-level yellow belt in Tae Kwon Do. He continues with piano studies and with his previous academics. He has been particularly enjoying doing math. He lost his first tooth, as well.
Hiram celebrated his fourth birthday and was thrilled to get a djembe drum. He is planning on starting drum lessons in the New Year. He is beginning to read rather proficiently and has been receiving tutoring in chess from his big brother.
Charlotte continues to be spunky and a bright spot in the lives of all those who know her. A few weeks ago, she responded to Krista, “I’m not your angel girl, I’m Charlie Tuna Fish.” She is also beginning to read quite a few words and is becoming ever more eloquent in her verbal expression.
The boys finally got the fish they earned a couple of months ago and have named him Indigo Slush. This little beta may be the most exotic pet we will ever have.
Glen and Krista ran a half-marathon in November and both set personal records. We were so glad to have Nana Cook out to visit and help us run (and host) the race (we didn’t want to drive down to Charleston for the race we had been planning on doing, so we convinced a few neighbors to run with us around our neighborhood).
At the end of November, we also were thrilled to have a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Higginson. The kids loved going to see the Garden of Lights with them.
We enjoyed seeing the D.C. Temple light display with some of our neighbors and attending a choral performance there. We have continued traditions from both of our families in our Christmas celebrations, and added some of our own. We had our first family musical number: Anson on piano, Krista on guitar, Hiram on the djembe, Glen and Charlotte singing. Glen made baklava and we enjoyed a Christmas evening hot cocoa treat as a family. Each of the kids got a book from Glen (and also one from their granddad).
We love you all and want you to know in this special season that we have a testimony that our Lord Jesus Christ was born on this earth and that He lives and loves each of us.
Yours faithfully,
Glen and Krista
