Spoiled With Grandparents

We miss living close to our extended family, but it sure is a treat to have visitors. Grandma and Grandpa Higginson graciously and unselfishly volunteered to come watch our boys for a night so that Glen and I could have a fun break. We took our first night away from children. Wow, what a refreshing experience! It was quite amazing for me to not be woken up several times during the night by little ones who are then ready for the day by 6:00 AM. It was a much needed retreat for us as we are headed into yet another period of an abundance of responsibility, and a lack of time together. I also have to mention that I am amazed at the charity that parents can give. You may or may not be surprised that my parents had the house in tip top shape, and the boys happy when we returned. I'm talking about stove scrubbed (thanks dad), fridge cleaned out and full of food, laundry done and everything else in the house sparkling. It doesn't get much better. I have been grateful for the perspective change even one night away from the boys has given me. I feel like I can be a more patient mother. Hopefully I can make that last more than a day. The boys sure love their grandparents, and were so lucky to spend some time with them. I didn't have my camera around much, I was having way too much fun. Here are a few pictures with grandma and grandpa.
