Mommy's Need Sleep Too!

I love the fact that Anson is reading as I am writing. He keeps repeating "mommy's need sleep too." I hope he will say it enough times that it will be the first thing he thinks about when he wants to come in to get mommy for the fifth time during the night. Last night, as I was walking Anson back to bed for the third time, I said, "Don't you think mommy needs to sleep too?" His reply was "no." Does not getting your much neeed sleep ever feel like some kind of a joke? Do you ever wonder how your children, who have kept you up all night, are still smiling in the morning? That's a wonder and a blessing.

Yesterday I saw a prayer for sleep answered. I got both boys to take a nap at the same time. When I woke up, the world was a peachy place. I had such a lovely time with Anson eating chips and salsa while we waited for Hiram to wake up. Anson said to me, "I dreamed about Jesus. He loves you" (but he means me when he says you). He also informed me that he wants a little sister. I will not comment about that at the moment, but it was a beautiful little time with my boy. Hiram woke up singing, and kept singing even while we were at the library. One of the librarians saw him and said, "I wondered what that noise was. It sounds like a little tropical bird." She thought it was pretty great.

I hope all of you sleep deprived mom's will get a nap today. If not, perhaps we can join Hram in song, and sing our sleepies away.
