We had a nice visit to one of the islands near Venice called Burano. We took a longer than expected boat ride over. Each of the houses is a different color, and according to one 90 year old resident there, it's because the people who were first there didn't know how to read or write, so they used the paint color to distinguish whose house was whose. That 90 year old woman was very kind, and we (Glen) talked to her for a while. Before we left her home, the children sang "I am a Child of God" to her. I liked the small town feel of Burano compared to Venice, and the colors were of the homes were great!
